Charter School Case Studies: Replicating Success
Learning from charter schools that beat the odds
Some charter schools are helping students achieve far more than their circumstances would predict, and system leaders need to understand what those schools are doing different. This project surfaces the concrete policies, practices, and systems behind those results so other schools can adapt what works, rather than guessing at what ‘high-performing’ really looks like in day-to-day practice.
Understanding Impact
To identify, measure, and replicate unexpected success, Basis is
- partnering with Central Michigan University's Center for Charter Schools to conduct in-depth case studies of three charter schools outperforming expectations.
- leading focus groups with school leaders, teachers, parents, and guardians, and reviewing key documents such as handbooks and learning materials.
- producing a final report that includes a synthesis of common themes across case studies and actionable recommendations other schools can implement.
